Citadel Securities has hired former Balyasny Asset Management rates trader Aditya Singh, adding to its growing team of ex-Goldman Sachs macro specialists in London, according to a report by eFinancialCareers.
Singh, who previously worked in rates trading at Goldman Sachs, is expected to join Citadel Securities' fixed income business, led by Nikhil Choraria, another former Goldman trader who joined the market-making firm in September.
Singh reportedly resigned from Balyasny earlier this year, potentially as early as May, ahead of a series of senior departures from the multi-strategy hedge fund. Neither Balyasny nor Citadel Securities commented on his move.
Choraria's arrival marked a significant addition to Citadel Securities' fixed income operations, with the former Goldman executive taking responsibility for the business.
The firm has assembled a team of former Goldman Sachs macro traders in London, including Nohshad Shah, Frank Flight and Ishaan Sethi, alongside Choraria and Singh.
Singh's move follows several recent departures from Balyasny, including portfolio manager James Watson, who returned to Millennium Management after overseeing a 20-person investment team in London.
The hedge fund has also seen the departure of former Goldman Sachs trader George Tyrrell and macro trader Stanley Sheriff, who reportedly retired from the industry aged 33 after joining Balyasny's Dubai operation in May 2025.
The appointment highlights continued competition for experienced rates and macro trading talent between major multi-strategy hedge funds and market-making firms.
