Centerview Partners has hired Bennett Schachter, a former Elliott Investment Management managing director, to lead its capital advisory business as the investment bank looks to expand its offering across public and private capital markets, according to a report by Bloomberg.
Schachter has joined Centerview as a partner after spending four years at Elliott, where he focused on capital markets and financing solutions. He joined the hedge fund in 2022 following a 25-year career in investment banking, including senior roles at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.
His experience spans equity, credit and alternative forms of capital, which Centerview said will help strengthen its ability to advise both existing and prospective clients on strategic financing transactions.
Capital advisory has become a strategic priority for the New York-based investment bank as companies and investors navigate shifting capital flows and growing demand for private-market financing.
Before joining Elliott, Schachter was a senior banker at Morgan Stanley, where he led its alternative and capital solutions businesses and became a prominent adviser on special purpose acquisition companies. Earlier in his career, he spent more than two decades at Goldman Sachs in a series of leadership roles within its capital markets division.
