Multi-stratgey major Millennium Management has hired Alexandre Yun as a senior portfolio manager in Hong Kong, adding an experienced technology equities investor who previously spent two and a half years at rival Schonfeld, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.

Yun has joined Millennium to run a long-short equity strategy focused on global technology stocks, having pursued the same strategy at at his previous employer.

His move to Millennium follows a six-month period of gardening leave after leaving Schonfeld. Before joining Schonfeld, Yun spent about five months at Balyasny Asset Management, also working on long-short equities.

Yun has spent much of his career at Cavalry Asset Management, where he worked for 16 years and became a partner. Cavalry was founded by John Hurley, who has since left the investment industry to take up a role as a US government ambassador.
