ExodusPoint Capital Management, the New York-based hedge fund firm found by Millennium Management alumni Michael Gelband and Hyung Lee, has appointed She Xu, a form portfolio manager at rival Balyasny Asset Management as its new Head of AI, according to a report by eFinancial careers.

Xu spent the last two years at Balyasny, where he was Head of Natural Language Processing, having spent the previous nine years at proprietary trading from TradeLink, the company he joined after completing his PhD in machine learning.

According to ExodusPoint Xu will focus on "enhancing [its] data science platform" and making its AI infrastructure "world class".
