Multi-strategy hedge fund ExodusPoint Capital Management has strengthened its quantitative and technology capabilities with the hire of Rob Buckle, previously head of core quants at Balyasny Asset Management, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.

Buckle, a seasoned quant specialist, brings more than two decades of experience across some of the world’s top macro and multi-strategy funds. Before his three-year tenure at Balyasny, he held senior roles at Brevan Howard and Rokos Capital Management, where he co-led quant research and technology during its transition from a family office to a hedge fund.

Earlier in his career, Buckle was among the founding technologists at Eisler Capital, helping to build the firm’s quantitative platform during its launch phase in 2016.

The move marks the latest in a string of technology-driven hires by ExodusPoint. In 2023, the firm appointed Shen Xu, Balyasny’s former head of natural language processing, as its head of artificial intelligence.
