ExodusPoint Capital Management is working with artificial intelligence company Anthropic to broaden the use of its Claude AI tools across the $15bn multi-strategy hedge fund, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The partnership will integrate Claude into ExodusPoint's proprietary AI platform, Atlas, with the aim of supporting investment research, portfolio management and operational functions, according to a statement from the firm.

More than 80% of ExodusPoint employees use Atlas each week, highlighting the extent to which the hedge fund has already incorporated AI into its day-to-day operations.

ExodusPoint said it evaluated leading AI models across a range of applications, including investment research, operations and software engineering, and found Anthropic's Claude to be the strongest performer in its testing.

The firm said Claude Code has already delivered measurable efficiency gains for its operations team, saving approximately four analyst hours per day on average.

ExodusPoint's agreement with Anthropic follows similar initiatives among other major alternative investment managers.

Millennium Management has partnered with Anthropic to develop an AI-powered risk analyst, while Man Group has also worked with the Claude developer on the development and application of AI technologies within its business.

ExodusPoint was founded in 2017 and is led by Michael Gelband, who serves as chief executive and chief investment officer. The firm manages about $15bn in assets.

The hedge fund fell 0.9% in July, leaving it up 3.5% for the year through the end of the month, according to previously reported figures.
