Jay McCall, the founding member of Citadel’s North American environmental products trading team, has joined Jain Global to build an integrated platform trading renewable energy and environmental products, including carbon, renewable electricity, and renewable fuels.
McCall had launched Citadel’s environmental products business in 2021 and departed in June 2025. His move to Jain Global in San Francisco appears to expand his remit compared with his previous role, notably avoiding Citadel’s usual long non-compete restrictions.
Jain Global has been actively building its commodities platform, including its September acquisition of wholesale gas marketer Anahau Energy, under the leadership of former Macquarie oil trader David Hochberg.
