Gatemore Capital Management (Gatemore), a London-based activist firm focused on public and private markets in the UK and US, has bolstered its team with the appointment of Lawrence Small as its new Partner and General Counsel. 

Small joins Gatemore from Valence8 LLP, a boutique investment office, where he was a Partner and General Counsel and a member of the management committee, with responsibility for overseeing all legal aspects of the Firm’s managed investment funds and advisory businesses.

Prior to co-founding Valence8, Small held a role as Partner and General Counsel for over 17 years at Cabot Square Capital LLP, where he was a member of the Operating and Investment Committees. Prior to that, he was at Clifford Chance LLP.

Small holds a BA in History from Brown University, an M.Litt in History from Cambridge University and a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School.
