Harraden Circle Investments has appointed former King Street Capital Management partner and co-portfolio manager David Walch as portfolio manager as they prepare to launch a new opportunistic strategy spanning public and private markets.
Walch will work alongside Harraden founder and chief investment officer Fritz Fortmiller to develop and co-manage the strategy, which will target opportunities across corporate credit, structured credit, real estate and real assets, including privately negotiated transactions. The strategy will complement the firm's existing event-driven investment platform.
Walch joins after 14 years at King Street, where he most recently served as partner and co-portfolio manager, with senior responsibilities across the firm's investment activities. He also sat on its Management, Global Investment, Real Estate Investment and Risk Committees.
Before joining King Street, Walch was a managing director at Perry Capital and previously worked in Morgan Stanley's real estate group. He brings nearly three decades of investment experience across credit and real assets.
Fortmiller said Walch's appointment would broaden Harraden's investment capabilities, combining the firm's existing research-driven approach with his experience in complex credit and privately negotiated investments.
