Emerging markets funds were once again the highest performing geographic region, returning 2.47 per cent, which has brought 2017 YTD gains to 12.26 per cent. This has been closely followed by Asia-Paci c-focused funds, which have generated 10.47 per cent over the same period.
CTAs continued their recent positive run in August, returning 1.27 per cent for the month. CTAs with a predominantly systematic trading methodology helped boost returns, as volatility in energy prices due to Hurricane Harvey in North America provided opportunity for returns.
