Hedge funds and other market participants are considering taking legal action against the London Metal Exchange (LME) over the recent problems in the nickel market, according to a report by then Evening Standard.
Funds including AQR Capital Management are report to be considering a possible law suit after the LME suddenly suspended trading when the price of nickel doubled and the cancelled USD4 billion of trades.
The LME is owned by China’s Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the HKEX.
