JPMorgan Chase veterans, Ville Vaataja and Shigetoshi Kobayashi, have joined Brahman Capital Management Pte (Brahman) to run a macro fund targeting Japan’s interest rate market, according to a report by Bloomberg.
Quoting sources familiar with the matter, the report said that the fund currently manages around $100m, started trading last month and aims to have about 75% or more of its exposure to the Japan rates market.
Previous to joining Brahman, Vaataja, was the head of Asia Pacific G-10 rates trading at JPMorgan Chase, while Kobayashi was the Chief of fixed income trading for Japan
