She will be reporting to chief executive Steve Tananbaum (pictured).

Garner has extensive experience in alternative investments area, specialising in distressed assets. She joins GoldenTree from multistrategy fund manager JD Capital Management, where she was a senior analyst in the distressed and high yield credit group, analysing investment opportunities across the capital structure in stressed credits and special situations.

Earlier she was a distressed debt and public equity analyst at Tudor Investment Corporation for five years.
