LGT Capital Partners has appointed Sascha Gruber as its next CEO, effective 1 January 2027, succeeding Roberto Paganoni, who has led the Swiss alternative investment manager since its founding in 1998, according to a report by finews.
Gruber, who joined LGT Capital Partners in 2002, has held senior leadership positions across the firm's investment operations, including roles on its executive management team and investment committees. He has played a significant role in developing its private markets and secondaries investment strategies, alongside supporting international expansion across North and South America.
Paganoni will transition to the Group Holding Board following nearly three decades as CEO. Under his leadership, LGT Capital Partners has grown into a global alternative investment manager overseeing more than $120bn in assets and serving over 750 institutional investors.
Headquartered in Pfäffikon, Switzerland, the firm employs approximately 1,000 people across 16 offices worldwide and is owned by Liechtenstein's princely family.
The appointment, which remains subject to regulatory approval, is intended to provide leadership continuity, with LGT Capital Partners confirming that its existing investment strategy will remain unchanged under Gruber.
