SIXTINA, the managed account platform operated by Natixis Alternative Investments France, this week announced the launch of the SIXTINA Harbert Event Opportunities Fund. Harbert Management Corporation, a Birmingham, Alabama-based investment manager with approximately USD2.8billion in AUM, will oversee daily portfolio management of the UCITS III-compliant fund as sub-investment manager. It sits under the umbrella of Natixis Absolute Global, a Lux-domiciled SICAV. NAI France, acting as fund manager, will be responsible for daily risk management and reporting. Neil B. Kennedy is portfolio manager to the UCITS, which seeks to achieve absolute returns by focusing on M&A and corporate event transactions, regardless of market direction. The fund was launched at a time of significant increase in M&A activity in North America and Europe. Natixis said that this latest addition to the managed account platform illustrated the firm’s “constant efforts to develop innovative investment solutions that meet clients’ needs”.
