Point72 Asset Management, the hedge fund founded by Steve Cohen, has expanded its crypto team with the appointment of Lionel Sukhram as a digital assets senior professional, according to a report by Financial News.
Sukhram joins Point72 from Robinhood where he spent nearly a year as a crypto operations senior specialist. Prior to Robinhood, he worked in banking, including as a director in Morgan Stanley's office of business management unit, and a six-year spell at Goldman Sachs.
Point72, which manages over $27bn in assets and made it's first crypto bet in August 2021, has been ramping up its digital assets push since appointing Pantera Capital's Terence Schofield as head of digital assets technology in September last year, and Michael Ashby, the ex-COO of Meraki Global Advisors, as head of digital assets strategic implementation, in December.
