The SS&C GlobeOp Forward Redemption Indicator for March 2017 measured 3.48 per cent, up from 3.25 per cent in February.
"SS&C GlobeOp's Forward Redemption Indicator for March 2017 was 3.48 per cent, sharply lower than the 4.26 per cent reported a year ago for March 2016. In fact, the 3.48 per cent for March 2017 was the lowest level of redemptions for any month of March in the past five years," says Bill Stone (pictured), chairman and chief executive officer, SS&C Technologies. "We will be watching future data points very closely to see whether this improvement can be sustained and, if so, it would represent a very favourable trend for the hedge fund industry."
The SS&C GlobeOp Forward Redemption Indicator represents the sum of forward redemption notices received from investors in hedge funds administered by SS&C GlobeOp on the SS&C GlobeOp platform, divided by the AuA at the beginning of the month for SS&C GlobeOp fund administration clients on the SS&C GlobeOp platform.
Forward redemptions as a percentage of SS&C GlobeOp's assets under administration on the SS&C GlobeOp platform have trended significantly lower since reaching a high of 19.27 per cent in November 2008. The next publication date is 24 April 2017.
