Carlisle Management Company, the Luxembourg-based alternative fund manager, has appointed Victor Heggelman as the company's new chief financial officer effective September 2011.
"We're pleased to welcome Mr. Heggelman to our Executive Management team," says Jose Garcia, Chief Executive Officer of Carlisle. "His experience in the alternative finance industry is unparalleled and he has been instrumental in the successful application of our mark-to-market valuation methodology. A significant part of our strategy is to work with people who have a solid track record in our industry. We believe Mr Heggelman will be an important member of our executive management team as we continue to expand Carlisle's industry leading position."
Heggelman has served as Carlisle's finance manager for the last two years and joined the firm from Morgan Stanley where he oversaw Real Estate investment portfolios. Prior to this he was Audit Manager at KPMG where he audited and advised numerous alternative investment funds including a number of life settlement investment vehicles on accounting policies and valuation systems. Mr. Heggelman has worked closely with funds and fund managers in Geneva, London and New York as well as assisting the structuring and planning of a number of life settlement funds.
"I am thrilled to be taking on this new opportunity," says Heggelman. "Carlisle is an industry leading firm that has established a true 'best of breed' Life Settlement fund. As capital continues to flow back into the market and renewed investor interest is capitalised upon, we will soon see the future of the industry taking shape. We have an exciting year ahead of us and I look forward to leading the finance team in making the most of these opportunities."
