Execution LLC, an agency-only broker, has launched an options trading platform.

The new offering is led by John Margolis who joined Execution in May 2009 from Thomson Financial where he had a 20-year career in technology and trading.
 
The new options group will offer smart routing, order execution, liquidity sourcing, and complex option execution strategies, including a low cost buy-side direct market access offering.

As head of the options capability, Margolis will focus on building out the platform in the US to deliver offerings to clients.
 
“We are continuing to build out our trading capabilities and the launch of our options platform is a key step in our US growth plan,” says Gary Cunningham (pictured), chief executive of Execution. “Our clients now have access to a global platform that will allow them to trade complex options.”
 
The options trading platform will function in concert with the global derivatives group, which was recently rolled out. Both capabilities complement the firm’s existing global equity research and execution strategies concentrating on US, European and Asian equities.
 
Execution plans to further build out the options capability with opportunistic hires over the coming year. In addition, the firm will be launching US futures trading capability before the end of the year.
 
“As clients have become more interested in other asset classes, we realized there was an opportunity to offer options trading to them with the same high-touch service that we have always provided on the equity side,” Margolis says.
