New York-based GAMCO manages the strategy, an independent investment boutique whose GAMCO Asset Management business is supported by institutional broker/dealer Gabelli & Company. A retail share class for the fund was launched by GAM earlier this month on the Irish Stock Exchange. Minimum investment is USD10,000. The UCITS will feed directly into the US Equity fund and will be managed by chairman Mario Gabelli (pictured), winner of the 2011 Institutional Investor Award: ‘Money Manager of the Year’.
