Multi-strategy hedge fund major Millennium Management has appointed Gideon Mann as its new Global Head of AI, Technology, with responsibility for building out a new team to help the firm "navigate the AI space".

Mann joins Millennium after almost nine-and-a-half years at Bloomberg, where he was most recently Head of Machine Learning Product and Research/CTO Office,  leading a team of around 50 employees, operating across the product lifecycle from research to product discovery and development to sales, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Prior to Bloomberg, Mann spent six-and-a-half years as a Staff Research Scientist at Google, focused on R&D efforts in machine learning.
