The Dublin-domiciled fund – Neuberger Berman Short Duration High Yield Bond fund - will look to replicate the firm’s existing USD4.3billion high yield bond fund, the only difference in investment strategy being that it will focus on short duration high-grade bonds to lower risk. Russ Covode, Ann Benjamin and Tom O’Reilly are to manage to fund. All three have an average of 20 years’ industry experience. Dik van Lomwel, Head of Neuberger Berman Europe, was quoted as saying: “Continued interest in the defensive characteristics of short duration credit strategies coupled with our proven 14 year track record in high yield were the primary drivers for launching a dedicated fund for this strategy.”
