Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) has hired David Ainsworth, the former head of data engineering at Eisler Capital, as talent from the shuttered hedge fund continues to resurface across the industry, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.
Ainsworth spent around two and a half years at Eisler, joining the firm from London-based quantitative trading group G-Research. His move comes as former Eisler portfolio managers, quants and technologists have begun taking up roles at a range of multi-manager and systematic hedge funds following Eisler’s closure.
The appointment underscores the growing importance of data engineering within quantitative and systematic investment firms. QRT, which is known for its highly automated, model-driven trading approach, places significant emphasis on firm-wide performance and scalable signal generation rather than individual portfolio manager attribution.
