Global technology stocks rallied on Tuesday as investor confidence in the artificial intelligence sector recovered following Anthropic’s long-awaited IPO filing, according to a report by the Financial Times.
The Nasdaq 100 gained 1.1% on Monday after Anthropic disclosed sharply rising revenues in the first half of 2026 and a $112bn cash position. The filing helped ease concerns over the commercial viability of AI investment, following months of volatility driven by questions over the scale of capital expenditure required to support the sector’s expansion.
Asian technology stocks led Tuesday’s gains, with South Korea’s Kospi rising as much as 5% before paring gains to 3%. Semiconductor manufacturers SK Hynix and Samsung advanced 5.2% and 4.2%, respectively, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 gained 1.7%, supported by a rally in SoftBank. The moves reflected renewed demand for companies exposed to AI infrastructure and semiconductor supply chains.
The rebound comes as hedge funds and other institutional investors reassess their exposure to AI-linked equities following recent market turbulence. Analysts at BNP Paribas described the moves as an AI relief rally, while investors remain focused on whether accelerating revenues can justify elevated technology valuations and sustained infrastructure spending.
Attention now turns to upcoming earnings from SK Hynix and Samsung, alongside the Federal Reserve’s next policy decision and the approaching US midterm elections.
