Harcourt Investment Consulting AG has agreed to buy 51 per cent of NIBC Petercam Gestion shares from NIBC Group. 
 
NIBC Petercam Gestión, a Spanish regulated Asset Manager based in Madrid, has been renamed Harcourt Investments SGIIC SA.

Harcourt Spain will keep its sole focus on alternative investments for institutional investors in Spain, Portugal and Andorra. In addition to its current offerings of onshore-regulated alternative investment funds (NPG brand), advisory services and fund of hedge funds will be added with the opening of a new regulatory environment in Spain.

'With this acquisition we are building upon an already existing and successful relationship and emphasize our presence in the market of the Iberian Peninsula,' says Peter Fanconi, Managing Partner Harcourt. 'We believe Harcourt Investments SGIIC SA is very well positioned to benefit from the opportunities presented by the Spanish market.'
 
Ivan Poza, Chief Executive Officer of Harcourt Investments SGIIC SA, believes the acquisition will prove beneficial to both new and existing clients. 'Our strategic alliance established one year ago has evolved into a full partnership which will allow Harcourt Investments Madrid to offer its institutional clients first-class global research and portfolio management capabilities on hedge funds and managed account managers,' he says. 'As in the future the regulator will define registration terms, we would like to offer institutional clients access to a broad, first quartile range of specialized Funds of Hedge Funds with proven track records.'
