Millennium Management has added Gary Quaranta, a seasoned hedge fund professional with over two decades of experience, to its team as part of an ongoing push to strengthen its technology and data capabilities, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.

Quaranta has joined Millennium's Chicago office as the firm’s new Head of Portfolio Manager Infrastructure Engagement within its Fixed Income and Commodities (FIC) technology team, from Balyasny Asset Management, where he spent the last five-and-half years as a manager in database administration.

Prior to Balyasny, Quaranta had a 15-year tenure at Citadel, one of Millennium's biggest rivals in the multi-strategy hedge fund space, ultimately serving as Director of Database and Storage Operations for the fund's global infrastructure team.
