James P 'Bucky' Canales, ex-Chief Operating Officer at Parker Global Strategies, LLC, has been appointed COO of Octane Management Limited.

Canales was a partner at Aletheia Research and Management prior to his stint at Parker and will operate out of Octane's New York offices.

"As our assets under management have continued to grow, we felt it important to add experience to our team," says Robbie Alexander, Chief Executive Officer of Octane. "Bucky has over twenty years of senior executive experience. His background in both operations and investments will be of benefit to both our team and our clients."

Octane Management Limited was founded in 2001. It is an alternative investment solution provider with non-US, institutional clients situated around the world. To date, it has constructed various risk-profiled fund of hedge fund solutions with assets under management in excess of USD 850 million.

Octane has personnel in Switzerland, New York, London and Johannesburg. The group is headquartered out of Switzerland, with the research and investment team being based in New York. While its consultants operate out of Switzerland, London and Johannesburg, custodian and administration services are independently provided out of Luxembourg.
